Still Life
Commission piece
An example of a commission piece with some very special and magical touches. This piece includes many of the client's favourite things, and items which connect him to a close family member. I used the same pigment to make the fiddle as the maker used in varnishing it (and got the pigment from him), and the browns are Clearwell ochres, as that area is special to the client. I made it all from reference photographs, having none of the actual items in front of me, so had to alchemise all of the special components into one magical imagined Still Life. I'm not sure I've ever had as many compliments about one piece as I have about this one.
